Sick, sick, sick.

Well, we didn't do anything for Halloween because Claire and I were both sick. She got sick right after getting her H1N1 vaccine on Thursday (although the doctor said she most likely caught something from school earlier in the week as it takes a few days to manifest), and I caught it on Saturday. We've been miserable ever since. Very stuffy head, coughing, fever (on and off), aches, and very tired.

I took both of us to the doctor yesterday... They didn't swab Claire as she would've tested positive for H1N1 since she just had the vaccine, but I got tested again and it came back positive. Yay. At least now we know what to call it. I'm on my second course of Tamiflu in a month...

Other than that, it's just rest and fluids... Not a ton we can do but ride it out. We've been watching a lot of VeggieTales together (big thanks to the Goecke family for the new supply!) and reading a ton of books, although that's hard with all the coughing.

Claire climbed up in our big armchair today while watching VeggieTales. Even though she's sick, she knows what she want, and had requested her "dancing shoes" and some goldfish and apple juice for a snack. (At least she ate a few things today - progress!) Anyway, it was very sweet so I snapped a couple of shots:

She doesn't usually get "pacer" and "lovey" during the day anymore, but when a girl is sick you make exceptions.

Never fear, we'll still dress her in her costume and will take pictures...when she's better. At least she didn't realize what she was missing...

Please say a prayer for us - two rounds of flu in a one month span has really worn us down...
